I've had an idea for a series of photographs of asparagus for a while now, and with it being (the tail-end) of the UK asparagus season I had to grab the opportunity while it's here.
Now, I'm a huge fan of the editorial style of food photography (such as you see in the UK delicious. magazine, although I tend to be a bit less messy in my styling). It makes the food look so amazing and the colours almost leap off the page and onto your plate.
I've also been toying with the idea of investing in a new lens - the Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4 (Nikon fit). It gets rave reviews from photographers and, lacking a 35mm prime in my tool kit wanted to see what all the fuss is about. So I've hired one as a 'test drive' of sorts and (please excuse the mangled cliché) it was love at first click! I think it may be a wrench to have to return it once the test drive is done.
